Free Instructions: Stairway to the stars bracelet


 Follow our illustrated instructions and learn how to make your own handmade bugle beaded bracelet, using right angle weave and netting. This project is perfect for beginners to bead weaving.  


This stylish bracelet is so easy to wear, it could be dressed up for an occasion, or worn casually, it’s lovely and light weight and so tactile. It would make the perfect gift. 

We have chosen a classic combination of Black Rainbow and gold plated. But we have plenty of other colours of Seed beads and bugle beads to design your own colour way!

 

Materials Needed: 

5g size 11/0 seed beads - we used Rainbow Black (R1101), 5

g Rainbow Black Bugle Beads (RB301 ),  

approx 120  x 2.4mm gold plated metal beads (MTEA2432) we used 104 to make a 6.5” bracelet,

2 x 5mm jump rings (JR5GP),

1 x Trigger clasp (TRGGP),

1 reel of black nymo (NMD01) 


Tools Required: 

one size 13 beading needle (ND13),

a sharp pair of scissors (SCIMX),

two pairs of chain nosed pliers ( BEECN),

a bead mat is also very handy! (BMT)

Instructions

Legend: A - seed beads , B - bugle beads, C - metal bead

Starting off and finishing a thread

 
1. Take stretched length of beading thread, thread on 1 B and 8 As (Photo 1), leaving a 30cm tail
2. Loop your needle around and back down the B to create a circle (Photo 2)
3. Thread 2A,1B,2A, loop around down the B from the previous step to create a circle. (photo 3)

4. Pass through the first 2As and up through the 1B from the previous step  (photo 4)
5. Pick up 2As, 1B, 2As, loop around and pass up the B you added in the previous step to create a circle (photo 5)

6. Pass through the first 2As and down through the 1B from the previous step (photo 6)
7. Continue steps 4-6 until your bracelet is your desired length- to make a 7.5 " bracelet continue until you have used 35 bugles.  Make sure you finish with the thread passing down a bugle bead

8. Pick up 8A loop around and down the last B added (photo 7)

9. Pass through the next 2A, pick up 1 C and pass through the next 2A (photo 8) repeat until you reach the end of your bracelet


10. Pass through the next 8A (photo 9)

11. Pick up 1 C and pass through the next 2As (photo 10) repeat until you get to the end you your bracelet



12. Pass through the next 8As (Photo 11)

13. *we flipped our beadwork over at this point as we found it easier to work with*
Pick up 1C, and pass through the next 2A (photo 12)


14. Pick up 1A, 1C, 1A miss out the next 2 A, and pass through the next C (Photo 13) Repeat this this until you get to the end of your bracelet

15. Pass through the next 8As and 1C (photo 14)


16. Pick up 1A, 1C, 1A, miss out the next 2A, pass through the next C (photo 15) repeat this until you get to the end of your bracelet.
17. Pass through the next 8As and 1C (photo 16)
18. Pick up 1A, 1C, 1A, miss out the next 2A (Photo 17)
19. Pass up through the  next 1A and 1C (photo 18)
20. Pick up 2A, pass though the next 1C  on the outside edge (photo 19) repeat this until you get to the end of your beadwork
21. Pass through the next 1A, 1C, 8As, 1C, 1A, 1C (photo 20)
22. Pick up 2A, pass though the next 1C  on the outside edge (photo 21) repeat this until you get to the end of your beadwork
23. Pass through the next 1A, 1C, 8As, 1C, 1A, 1C (photo 22)
24. Pick up 2A, and pass through the next 1C on the outside edge of your beadwork (photo 23) Tie off your thread, and sew in your loose thread ends.
25. Using chain nosed pliers, open up one jump ring, and loop it onto the end beaded loop on your bracelet, then close the jump ring (photo 24). Repeat for the other end of the bracelet, but before you close the jump ring, add your trigger clasp (photo 25)
