Free Instructions: Tiny Bee Honeycomb Home

Follow our step by step instructions to make your own cute little honeycomb home for your tiny bee! Did you know our tiny bee charm is a charity charm? The little bee charm we have used is our charity charm! For every multi pack of our tiny bee charm we sell, we donate 50% of the retail value to the Bumblebee Conservation Trust (Learn More) You could make two honeycombs to make into earrings, or add a jump ring and add to a chain. Or attach it to some card to make it in to a lovely handmade card…. Or simply hang it up somewhere decorative!

Materials Needed:1

Tools Needed:

  • A pair of sharp Scissors (SCIMX)
  • A pair of chain nosed pliers (BEECN-1)

(Please note, we have used S-Lon instead of nylon, so the thread was visible for these photographs)


Instructions

  1. Cut 1m of nylon and thread on 6 bugles and take down to the centre. Cross one end through the last bugle to form a ring. This is your central ring. (Picture 1)

  2. On one thread pick up 5 bugles, pass the other length through the last bugle picked up. (Picture 2)

  3. Pass the thread that is in the centre through the next bugle in the ring. (Picture 3)

  4. Pick up 4 bugles on the other thread and cross through the last bugle. (Picture 4)

  5. Repeat step 3 and 4 a further 3 times. (Picture 5)

  6. Pass the thread that is at the centre through the central bugle and the 1st bugle in the outside ring. (Picture 6)

  7. Pick up 3 bugles and cross through the last bugle picked up. (Picture 7)

  8. Weave the nylon ends around the beadwork until it feels secure, trim the ends.
  9. Open a jump ring and choose where you would like to hang your bee. Add the relevant bugle and the bee charm. Close the jump ring. (Picture 8)
