Free Instructions: Something Blue Crystal Lace Bracelet

A delicate and sparkling design creates a lace effect element. We paired it with a contemporary sliding bracelet finding for a stunning bracelet, or you could add a jump ring to make it into a pendant, or make two to make a pair of earrings!

Our beaded element uses Preciosa seed beads, Preciosa crystal beads, and Preciosa candy beads, follow our step by step instructions to learn how we bead weaved them together to make this pretty design.

We chose to work in a bridal colour way, perfect for a 'something blue' for a bride or make several to give as bridesmaids gifts.

Materials needed for 'Something Blue' Crystal Lace Bracelet

5g Size 11/0 Preciosa silver lined seed beads (S1131)

5 x 3mm Preciosa Crystal Bicone Beads - Aquamarine (CPB360000)

5 x 4mm Preciosa Crystal Bicone Beads Aquamarine (CPB460000)

5 x Preciosa Pearlescent Candy beads (GLPJ0807-30)

1 Reel of Nymo (NMD02)

2 x 5mm jump rings (JR5SP)

1 x Bracelet slider (BEXSP)

Tool Required

Chain Nosed Pliers (BEECN)

Size 13 beading needle (ND13)

Ending and Adding Thread

To secure your thread, pass the needle under a thread between beads and pull through until there is a small loop remaining. Pass over the original thread and through the loop and pull tight ensuring the knot forms between the beads. Pass through a few more beads and repeat. Pass through some more beads and trim the thread.

Legend; A - Seed beads

1. Thread your needle with 30cm of stretched beading thread. Take your 5 candy beads, position them so the dome side of the beads are facing up, position them so the holes run horizontally, pass through the tope hole of all 5 candy beads (photo 1)

2. Circle your thread around, and pass back through the first candy bead again, to create a circle (photo 2). Pass through this thread path twice more to strengthen, secure your thread, and trim.

3. Thread your needle with 50cm of stretched beading thread. Pass through the outside hole of one of your candy beads (photo3)

4. Pick 1A, 1 x 4mm crystal, 1A, pass through the outside hole of the next candy bead, leaving a 10cm tail (photo 4)

5. Repeat step 4 four more times (photo 5)

6. Pass through the next 1A, 1 crystal, 1A (photo 6)

7. Pick up 2A, 1x 3mm crystal, 2A, pass through the next 1A, 1 x crystal, 1A (photo 7)

8. Repeat step 7 four more times (photo 8)

9. Pass through the next 2a, 1 crystal (photo 9)

10. Pick up 5a, pass through the next crystal (photo 10)

11. Repeat step 10 nine times (photo 11)

12. Pass through the next 2a, miss 1 a, pass through the next 1a (this creates a point)(photo 12)

13. Pick up 5a , miss 1a, 1 crystal, 1a. Pass through the next 1a, miss 1a, pass through the next 1a (photo 13)

14. Repeat step 13 nine times (photo 14)

15. Pass through 2a, miss 1a, pass through 2a (photo 15) Missing out the middle bead in the 'point', will make it more pointy as you keep the tension in your thread

16. Continue around the outside thread path to strengthen, missing the middle 1a in each 'point'. Secure and trim your threads (photo 16)

17. Using chain nosed pliers, open a jump ring, loop it through on of the outside gaps in your beadwork, and loop it onto the end loop of your sliding bracelet extension (photo 17)
