Add a pop of colour to your bracelet stack! Look at the fabulous colours of our rainbow hematite... Once you have mastered how to make this bracelet, why not switch up the colour of S-Lon, and use different beads!

Materials Needed: 12 x 6mm Rainbow hematite beads () HEM6ROMX ) , 3m S-Lon Aqua ( SLC44-70), 6 x 2.4mm SIlver plated metal beads ( MTEA2431).

Tools Needed: A sharp pair of scissors ( SCIMX), optional - but makes macramé a lot easier - small macramé board ( MBDS), and 1 tapestry needle - the eye big enough to fit 0.5m S-Lon through it

Instructions

1. Cut one 50cm length of cord, cut two 1m lengths of cord. Match the ends and tie an overhand knot 10cm from the end (photo 1)
   
   
   
   
2. The shorter length is called the lazy cord. Thread 12 of your hematite beads on to this cord and then secure the end to your board (or cushion) (photo 2)
   
   
   
3. Now to start knotting. Pass the right hand cord over your lazy thread, and under your left hand thread (photo 3)
   
   
   
4. Pass your left cord under the lazy thread, and through the loop created by the right cord. Pull tight (photo 4)
   
   
   
5. Pass the left hand cord over the lazy thread, and under the right cord (photo 5)
   
   
   
6. Pass your right thread under the lazy thread, and up through the loop created by the left thread. (photo 6)
   
   
   
   
7. Pull tight. This is one complete square knot (photo 7)
   
   
   
   
8. Repeat steps 3-7 until you have 10 complete square knots (photo 8)
   
   
   
   
9. Move one bead up your lazy cord, and repeat steps 3-7 to complete a square knot. Be careful to make sure the outside cord sits nicely around the beads (photo 9)
   
   
   
10. Repeat the previous step until all of your beads are encased
11. Keep knotting until your have 10 complete knots (photo 10)
    
    
    
    
12. Tie an overhand knot, ensuring that it sits up snugly up against your last square knot. (photo 11)
    
    
    
13. Create your sliding knot next. Cut a 20cm length of cord ready. Create a circle with your bracelet, and overlap your 6 loose strands, so they run parallel with each other, in opposite directions. Position neatly. These are your lazy cords. Pass your 20cm cord underneath (photo 12)
    
    
    
14. Complete 5 square knots, do not pull them too tight (photo 13)
    
    
    
    
15. Next, secure the two cords of your sliding knots. Thread one cord onto a tapestry needle, carefully thread back down the edge of the square knots you competed in the previous step (photo 14). Be careful not to catch the lazy cords with your needle while you are threading, otherwise your knot will not slide. Repeat with the other cord. Then trim
    
    
    
16. Trim your loose cords to the same length, thread one metal bead onto each cord, and tie an overhand knot (photo 15)
