Free Instructions: Nyx's Bracelet

Follow our free step by step instructions and learn how to make your own Nyx beaded bracelet using a bead weaving technique. We chose to use the classic Halloween colour combination; silver lined purple, green and opaque black seed beads, or you could choose your own colour way! We used size 8/0 seed beads, we have lots of colours to choose from! Enjoy our Free beading pattern, handmade jewellery is the best!

Materials Needed:

5g Size 8/0 Black Opaque Preciosa Seed Beads ( O801 )

5g Size 8/0 Lavender Silver Lined Preciosa Seed Beads ( S824 )

5g Size 8/0 Lime Gree Silver Lined Preciosa Seed Beads ( S828 )

Beading thread - (any of our beading thread is suitable for this project)

2 x 5mm jump rings ( JR5SP )

1 x Trigger & Extension Chain ( EXCH5SP )

Tools

Size 10 Beading Needle ( ND10 )

Chain Nosed Pliers

Beading Mat ( BMT2 )

A sharp pair of scissors ( SCIMX )

A - colour one ( we used black ) B - colour two ( we used purple and green )

Instructions

1. Take a comfortable length of stretched beading thread. Thread 1A, one metal bead, 3A, 1B ( photo 1 ) Leaving a 15cm tail

2. Pass back down the first A you picked up in step 1 ( photo 2)

3. Pick up 2A, pass back up through the last A you picked up in step 2 ( photo 3 )

4. Pick up 2A, 1 B, pass back down the last A you picked up in step 3 ( photo 4 )

5. Pick up 2A, pass back up the last A you picked up in step 4 ( photo 5 ). Do not pull your tension too tight.

6. Repeat steps 4 and 5, - after we used 5 purple beads, we changed beads B to green seed beads - we used 5 green beads, then 5 purple beads to create a pattern ( photo 6 ) Do not pull your tension too tight, otherwise it will not drape nicely when you're finished.

7. Repeat step 4 & 5 until your bracelet is your desired length. Repeat step 4

8. Pick up 2A, one metal bead and pass up through the last A you picked up in the previous step ( photo 7 )

9. Pass through the next outside A ( photo 8 )

10. Pick up 1B - we used the opposite colour to what B is in the middle of your beadwork, pass through the next outside A ( photo 9 )

11. Repeat step 10 for the length of your bracelet, alternating the colour of the Bs as you wish ( photo 10 )

12. Stop repeating step 10 when you get to the second A along from the metal bead, pass through the 2 outside As, metal bead, 2 outside As (photo 11)

13. Repeat step 10 for the other side of the bracelet (photo 12 ), stop when you reach the second A along from the metal bead

14. Pass around the outside 2As, one metal bead, and the next 2As. Weave around any thread paths your feel need strengthening. We passed through all the thread paths again. Do not pull the tension tight, otherwise your bracelet will not drape nicely. Weave in and secure your threads.

15. Using chain nosed pliers, open up a jump ring, loop it over the metal bead and your trigger clasp, close the jump ring ( photo 14 )
