Free Instructions: Mini Monster

Learn how to make a your own friendly mini monster, perfect for mini project with the kids! Once you have made your first one, you'll want to make monster friends for them....use our techniques as a starting point, and go from there! 

Materials Used

2 x pipe cleaners ( PIPSMX-100 )
1 x 18mm unvarnished wooden beads ( WDCA18 )
2 x 8mm unvarnished wooden beads ( WDCA08 )

Tools required 

A pair of side cutters, or old scissors 

Instructions

1. Thread your pipe cleaner through your 18mm wooden bead (photo 1)
2. Loop your pipe cleaner around and pass back through the bead again ( photo 2a)
pull your pipe cleaner so it's snug against your bead ( photo 2b ) while making sure your bead is positioned in the middle of your pipe cleaner

3. Take a pencil and position it against the hole of the wooden bead ( photo 3 )
4. Twist your pipe cleaner around the pencil to create a spiral( photo 4a) then slide the pencil out ( photo 4b )
5. Repeat for the other side of the pipe cleaner ( photo 5 )
6. Trim your second pipe cleaner so it's approx 18cm long, and thread it through the wooden bead ( photo 6 )
7. Fold down the pipe cleaners ( photo 7 )
8. Pull the pipe cleaner sides together, and twist twice to secure them together ( photo 8 )
9. Thread one wooden bead onto the end of your pipe cleaner  ( photo 9 )
10. Curl your pipe cleaner around your bead inwards towards the big bead ( photo 10 )
11. Repeat on the other side, slide the twist of your pipe cleaner towards the back of your bead, so your monster is propped up ( photo 11 )
12. .....and decorate! ( photo 12 ) We used acrylic paint pens 

You're finished!
