1. Take a length of S-Lon, approx 30cm, thread the beads you would like on your bracelet ( photo 1 ) ( we made three bracelets ) tie a knot at each end of the beads to keep them in the middle. TIP, when you're tying your second knot - before you pull it tight, use a needle to guide the knot so it sits snugly against the beads.
TIP you may want to practise this knot on some string first, as it's can be tricky tying it for the first time on S-Lon.
2. We are using rat tail in our photos, as it's clearer to see and clearer to take photographs of! Take your two thread ends, and pass the left over right, (photo 2 ) this thread will be your working thread, the other thread is your lazy thread, and will not get moved.
3. Pass your working thread down underneath the lazy thread (photo 3)
4. Pass your working thread up and over itself and the lazy thread (photo 4 )
5. Pass your working thread through the loop created in the precious step, this will create an overhand knot ( photo 5 )
before you pull the knot tight, gently position it so the bracelet is the size of the widest part of your hand (as it will need to fit over your hand to get it on!)
6. Pull the knot firmly closed ( photo 6 )
7. Thread one size 8/0 bead onto each of the two end threads, tie a knot and trim ( photo 7 )
8. Dab a little bit of glue onto your sliding knot, making sure it doesn't touch the lazy thread, otherwise your knot will not slide! ( photo 7 ) Do the same with your two ends knot. Put it somewhere safe and clean and leave it time to dry
