Free Instructions: Crystal Arrow Necklace

Use beautiful Preciosa crystal bicones to make a striking pendant, we chose to use siam red to replicate Ruby; to represent  the July Birthstone. Personalise your necklace by choosing your birthstone colour.

Materials Needed

1 x 6mm Siam Preciosa Crystal Bicone Bead ( CPB690090-12 )
3 x 5mm Siam Preciosa Crystal Bicone Bead ( CPB590090-24 )
6 x 4mm Siam Preciosa Crystal Bicone Bead ( CPB490090-20 )
11 x 2.4mm Metal spacer beads ( MTEA24 )
7 x head pins ( HPSP )
1 x 5mm jump ring ( JR5SP )
1 x Rolo Chain ( CHD18SP-1 )
1 x 18mm circle link ( MT1EL18SP )
 

Tools Required 

1 pair of side cutters ( BEESP )
2 pairs of chain nosed pliers ( BEECN )
1 pair of round nosed pliers ( BEERN )
1 bead mat (optional, but very handy! ( BMT-2 )
 

Instructions

1. Take a head pin, thread one metal bead, one 6mm crystal, one metal bead, one 5mm crystal, one metal bead (photo 1)
2. Using side cutters, trim your head pin 8mm from the end bead (photo 2)
3. Using chain nosed pliers, fold your headpin over to a 90 degree angle, fold as close to the top bead as possible (photo 3)
4. Using round nosed pliers turn a neat loop (photo 4) this crystal dangle is finished, put to one side
5.  Take a headpin, thread one 5mm crystal bead, one metal bead, one 4mm crystal bead
6. Repeat steps 2-4 (photo 5)
7. Take a headpin, thread one 4mm crystal, two metal beads
8. Repeat steps 2-4 (photo 6)
9. Take a headpin, thread one metal bead, one 4mm crystal bead
10. Repeat steps 2-4 (photo 7)
11. Repeat steps 5-10 twice more, so you have duplicates of these three crystal dangles
12. Using chain nosed pliers open the loop of one of the smallest crystal dangles, attach it to the open circle link, and close the loop.
13. Repeat step 12 with the next smallest crystal dangle, continue adding them in order of size, once you've added the longest, add the crystal dangles in the reverse order to create your arrow shape (photo 8)
14. Using chain nosed pliers, open one jump ring, loop it onto the open circle link, and your rolo chain, then close the jump ring. (photo 9)
