Free Instructions: Fringe Skull Earrings

 

Make your own super stylish skull tassel earrings, not a fan of skulls? Swap the skulls out for a feature bead of your choice! Fancy a bit more colours? Swap out the black tassels, for one of our other colours! That's the wonderful thing about hand making your own jewellery, you get to make it exactly the way you like! 

Materials needed

2 x feature beads, we used 2 x glass skull beads ( GLUZ17 )
2 x Ear wires ( LBWGP )
2 x Eye pins ( EPGP ) or off cuts from your headpins or eye pins! 
2 x 6mm end caps ( CEA6GP )
2 x tassels ( TAS01 )

Tools Required

Side cutters ( BEESC )
Round nosed pliers ( BEERN )
Flat nosed pliers ( BEECN )
Super Glue ( ZAP-1 )

 

Instructions 

1. Take an eye pin, thread a skull bead onto it, head first!, using side cutters, trim your eye pin 7mm above your bead  ( photo 1 ) enough so you are creating a loop thats is 4mm across.
2. Using chain nosed pliers, fold the eye pin as close to the bead as possible, to a right angle ( photo 2 )
3. Using round nosed pliers, turn a neat loop that is approx 4mm wide ( photo 3 ), set aside
4. Take one end cap, and one tassel, pop a dap of glue on the end of your tassel, and insert it into your end cap, leave to dry ( photo 4 )
5. Take your skull, using chain nosed pliers, open the larger loop and attach to the loop on the end cap/tassel, then close the loops ( photo 5 )
6. Using chain nosed pliers, open the smaller loop on your skull, and attached an ear wire, close the loop ( photo 6 )
7. Repeat all the above steps to make your second earring
