Instructions
1. Thread 3 x 5mm bicones onto a headpin (Picture 1)
2. Measure 1cm from the top to the headpin and trim your wire. (Picture 2)
3. Grip the very tip of the wire in your round nosed pliers roughly 0.5cm in, roll the pliers to turn a loop down to your beads to form a P shape. (Picture 3)
4. Remove the pliers and grip the “neck” of the loop and gently bend the P shape back so the loop sits centrally over the beads. You may find this easier with a pair of chain nosed pliers. (Picture 4)
5. Repeat steps 1 to 5 to make the following: 2 dangles of 2 5mm bicones, 2 dangles of 3 5mm bicones (including the one made in the tutorial), 2 dangles of 4 5mm bicones, 2 dangles of 5 5mm bicones, 2 dangles of 6 5mm bicones and 1 dangle of 7 5mm bicones. 2 dangles of 2 3mm bicones, 2 dangles of 4 3mm bicones, 2 dangles of 5 3mm bicones, 2 dangles of 6 3mm bicones, 2 dangles of 8 3mm bicones. (Picture 5)
6. Cut a length of beading wire, we cut around 60cm. Thread 1 8/0, then thread on one of the 2 bead 5mm dangles. (Picture 6)
7. Thread a pattern of 2 8/0, a 3mm dangle, 2 8/0 and a 5mm dangle working along the dangles in size up to 7 5mm with the two 8 3mm dangles either side and then back down to the 2 bead dangles. Finish with 1 8/0. Make sure that you thread all the loops on the same way. (Picture 7)
8. Working equally on both sides thread five 11/0 seed beads and a 3mm bicone until you have five bicones either side. Thread 11/0 seed beads until the necklace is the desired length minus the clasp length. Thread four 8/0 seed beads.
9. Thread a crimp and a wire guardian, and trigger clasp, loop the wire around and pass back through the crimp and the 8/0 seed beads. Crush the crimp ( photo 8a ) and ad a crimp cover ( photo 8b ). If you would learn more about using crimp, crimp covers and wire guardians, visit our blog post that teaches you how to use them
10. Repeat at the other end with the extension chain but make sure your have the wire neatly pulled up with no gaps in the beads before crushing the crimp. TIP - before you do this, make sure you position your necklace flat, and the wire does not have a curl or twist when you add your crimp, wire guardian, crimp cover
