TIP before your start
You get through your length of beading thread super quickly with our Nova Necklace design , this is where a bead weaver's knot comes in handy! Learn how to securely ( and satisfyingly) tie your new beading thread to your old one using a bead weaver's knot . ( you may wish to practise this first )
A = Accent Seed Bead M = Main Colour Seed Bead P = 4mm Glass Pearl
1. Thread your needle with a comfortable length of stretched beading thread, we started with around 2m as we are working from the centre of the thread. Pick up 5M, move the beads to the centre of the thread and circle back through the 2nd and 3rd M’s added in this step ensuring they sit neatly next to each other. (Picture 1)
2. Pick up 1A and pass back down through 3M. (Picture 2)
3. Pick up 1P and pass up through the 2M sticking out. (Picture 3)
4. Pick up 4M and circle back through the first 2M added in this step (Picture 4)
5. Repeat steps 2 and 3.
6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 until you have used 64 pearls, end on a step 3. Do not end the thread.
7. Thread your needle onto the tail. Pick up 1M, 1P and 1M. Pass through the bottom of the calotte and pick up a crimp. Pass back through the calotte and weave around your beadwork so that you can repeat this thread path for extra strength. Pass back through the calotte, 1M and 1P. (Picture 5)
8. Pick up 6M and circle back through the 3rd and 4th M’s added in this step. (Picture 6)
9. Pick up 1A and pass back down through 3M. (Picture 7)
